Philippine police have killed a sacked police captain after he held 15 Hong Kong tourists hostage on a bus in Manila, the capital.
At least seven of the hostages were killed by Rolando Mendoza in the 11-hour drama on Monday.
Donald Tsang, the Hong Kong leader, said two tourists were severely injured and that six more remain hospitalised.
"The hostage-taker was killed. He chose to shoot it out with our men," Nelson Yabut, a police colonel, told reporters.
