Lebih 180 maut akibat rempuhan di Kemboja

PHNOM PENH 23 Nov. - Sekurang-kurangnya 180 orang maut dalam satu rempuhan di sebuah jambatan di sini ketika berjuta-juta penduduk memenuhi jalan-jalan di bandar raya ini bagi menyambut Festival Air, semalam.
Menurut seorang jurugambar AFP, mayat mangsa diletakkan berhampiran jambatan itu yang menghubungkan Phnom Penh dengan Pulau Berlian, sebuah pulau kecil di mana pesta itu diadakan sempena berakhirnya festival tahunan selama tiga hari.
Pihak berkuasa masih memindahkan mayat mangsa dari jambatan itu, kata jurugambar itu. - AFP
