BUKIT FRASER ( FRASER HILL )

Bukit Fraser terletak di negeri Pahang, di atas Banjaran Titiwangsa, Malaysia. Merupakan kawasan pelancongan pergunungan yang menarik kerana suhunya sejuk 17~24 Celcius. Puncak tertinggi Bukit Fraser ialah 1,280 meter dari aras laut. Kira-kira 104 kilometer dari bandar raya Kuala Lumpur. Bukit Fraser ini terletak di dalam Daerah Raub Pahang.

Bukit Fraser mendapat nama daripada seorang pengembara British pada zaman kolonial iaitu Louis James Fraser  Terdapat pelbagai cerita menarik tentang beliau tetapi tidak begitu jelas termasuk beliau sebagai pengeluar dadah opium dan perjudian  antara para pelombong di Pahang.

Banyak bangunan dan banglo dibina mengikut cita rasa kolonial British. Dinding rumah daripada batu konkrit besar yang disusun dan disimen. Warna dinding berwarna putih dengan diselang seli warna hitam pada tiang jenang. Pagar rumah dibuat daripada pokok-pokok bunga . Lebar jalan raya agak terhad iaitu hanya dua lorong dan sukar untuk berselisih kereta.

The journey takes approximately 2hours from KL and is only accessible by road. Take the North-South Highway towards north, take the Rawang exit from the highway and drive further north to Kuala Kubu Bahru (KKB) and up to Fraser's Hill. KKB as we call this quaint town has a clock tower just off the children's playground in commemoration of King Edward VII 's coronation. A good place for a short stopover. There's an old liquor shop well worth the visit. They sell all sorts of liquor - Chinese rice wine, Indian whiskey, all sorts of firewater - sometimes served in Chinese cups.

From KKB take the easterly road past the police station all the way along the winding roads to the Gap Resthouse.

There is a one way up and one way down road system now at Fraser's Hill.

The new road which is about 200m further from the Gap Resthouse is closed again due to landslides

After 7.40pm, the traffic will be two way. Slow down on bends and watch out for on coming traffic and turn on your headlights
