Pakistan flood death toll rises

Thousands have been forced to flee the floods in the northwest [AFP] The death toll in three days of flooding in Pakistan has reached at least 430, Pakistani rescue and government officials said. More than a million people have also been affected by the floods that have bloated rivers, submerged villages, and triggered landslides throughout the northwest of the country. Rescue workers were struggling to reach people who were stranded by the flooding, thought to be the worst in the region since 1929.
